SaskPower required a comprehensive facilities usage and management strategy for a 20-year horizon, to guide decision making with respect to some 185 buildings distributed throughout the Province of Saskatchewan. In 2008/2009 SEPW provided architectural consulting services for the facilities strategy with project manager R.C. Peterson Ltd. of Calgary. Our work focused on the following key components of the overall strategy:
1. Renewal study of SaskPower head office building in downtown Regina.
* Comprehensive building condition report covering all building systems and components
* Building code/accessibility analysis
* Recommended code and infrastructure upgrades to base building
* Implementation methodology for renovation of occupied space
* Project cost estimate and schedule
2. New building concepts and site assessment for additional SaskPower office space.
* Site analysis including development potential
* Development options to address expansion requirements of head office
* Parking analysis and options
* Project cost estimate and schedule
