The design intent of the tenant improvement for this small dental office was to enhance the feeling of spaciousness.  This was accomplished in many ways. Service areas were amalgamated along one side to maintain views from reception through to the operatories and a glass block partition was installed between the waiting area and the operatories, allowing natural light from the front windows to penetrate deeper into the office.  This partition does not extend to the ceiling, which also helps to visually expand the waiting area.  A curved bulkhead in an accent colour leads the eye down the central corridor creating the illusion that the space is deeper than it is.  Subtle horizontal stripes painted on the walls complete the illusion.  New glass block windows were also added from the operatories to the exterior at each chair to maximize light penetration and to create the perception of a larger space.
