The Movieworx proposal was prepared during early 2003 and is currently on hold. It is designed to accommodate 7 theatres, each seating approximately 180 people in comfort. Each theatre will feature state-of-the-art projection sound equipment. Much attention is paid to acoustical separation between theatre/theatre and public corridor/theatre.

The internal design theme is one of a “space craft” interior, with digital lighting and electronic signage. Given that this facility is proposed as a renovation to an existing mall building, numerous design restrictions were encountered. Nevertheless, a most functional layout is achieved, including entry hall, ticket kiosks, snack food, and drink vendors, arcade, party room, washrooms and wide public corridors.

The exterior design includes an applied façade to the existing building which is made possible by careful and selective demolition of the existing structure. Using steel, glass, colour and light, the main entry to this theatre complex is both attractive and appealing.
