The urban heart of Regina is the Frederick W. Hill Mall (Scarth Street Mall). Our firm played a significant role in the revitalization of the Mall and its heritage buildings between 1990 and 1997. The City of Regina and the Regina's Market Square downtown business group were clients during this period for a number of district planning, design and construction phases:
- Scarth Street Mall Enhancement Study 1991
- Study of Pedestrian Facilities, including Climate Controlled Pedestrian Walkways in Downtown Regina 1990/91
- Reconstruction of Scarth Street Mall Floorplate, Phase One (1993) and Phase Two (1994)
The Frederick W. Hill Mall (Scarth Street Mall) contains, perhaps, a greater number of heritage buildings than any other street in the Downtown. The restoration/renewal of these building facades will, together with the Mall Floorplate replacement, and the Climate Controlled Walkway System, ensure a heritage theme which will serve to strenghten and consolidate the Frederick W. Hill Mall, and Downtown Regina, as a destination for visitors, shoppers and commerce. |
