This development consists of three residential buildings of similar and unified design, located on a designed landscaped city block between Central and Wascana Parks in Regina.
The site originally accommodated the 1908 Central Collegiate buildings, which were of notable design in collegiate gothic style. Unfortunately, owing to high maintenance and operating costs, the buildings were vacated during 1985 and became further derelict. Studies indicated that building foundations and structure were in such condition that restoration was not viable.
In designing this development, the architectural style of the original buildings dictated somewhat to the scale and materials of the new buildings, wherein brick and Tyndall Stone are employed as before. The buildings accommodate 110 residential units on three floors, underground parking and other various and necessary facilities. |
